Display Panel and Structure: The JT020HVI40M4R01 uses a low-temperature a-Si TFT active-matrix panel with RGB-stripe color arrangement and a dot pitch of 0.085 × 0.085 mm. The active area measures 40.82(W) × 30.62(H) mm, and the module outline is 46.1(W) × 40.96(H) × 2.54(D) mm. The display operates in normally-black transmissive mode, and the Anti-Glare surface treatment reduces ambient-light reflections, improving readability in bright environments such as shop floors, warehouses and outdoor kiosks.
Driver and Interface: The module is driven by the ST7701S-G5-PM controller IC through a 50-pin FPC connector. The recommended mating connector is the FH12A-50S-0.5SH manufactured by Hirose. The interface comprises a 16-bit parallel RGB data bus (5-bit red R0–R4, 6-bit green G0–G5, 5-bit blue B0–B4), vertical sync (VS), horizontal sync (HS), pixel clock (PCLK) and data enable (DE) signals, plus a 3-wire SPI serial interface (SDA, SCL, CS, SDO) and a global reset pin. Dual power rails are required: VDDI for the digital circuit (1.8 V, range 1.65–3.3 V) and VDD for the analog circuit (2.8 V, range 2.5–3.6 V). The SPI interface allows controller register configuration for display timing, gamma correction and panel settings.
Backlight System: The backlight consists of 4 series-connected LEDs in a single parallel branch (4S1P configuration), operating at a typical voltage of 12 V (range 11.2–14 V) and a typical current of 20 mA. Under these conditions the module achieves a typical luminance of 450 cd/m² (minimum 400 cd/m²). The LED backlight has a rated lifetime of 20,000 hours, defined as the time until brightness decays to 50% of the initial value at Ta = 25 ℃ and half the rated current. Operating at currents above 20 mA will shorten the LED lifetime.
Optical Performance: The module delivers a wide viewing angle of 80° (typical) in all four directions (left, right, top, bottom) with a contrast ratio of 800 minimum / 1000 typical. The response time (TON + TOFF) is 35 ms typical / 45 ms maximum. The typical color gamut is 60% NTSC (55% minimum). White color chromaticity is specified at X = 0.31 ± 0.05 and Y = 0.35 ± 0.05 (CIE1931), with a luminance uniformity of at least 70% across 9 measurement zones. All optical measurements are conducted in a dark room after 30 minutes of operation.
Environmental and Reliability Performance: The module is rated for operation from −20 ℃ to +70 ℃ and storage from −30 ℃ to +80 ℃. It has passed a comprehensive reliability qualification including high/low temperature storage (80 ℃ / −30 ℃, 240 hours), high/low temperature operation (70 ℃ / −20 ℃, 240 hours), high-temperature/high-humidity operation (60 ℃ / 90% RH, 240 hours), thermal shock (−20 ℃ to +70 ℃, 100 cycles), sweep vibration (10–55 Hz, 2G, 2 hours per axis), random package vibration, 60 cm package drop testing and ESD testing (contact ±4 kV, air ±8 kV). Acceptance criteria cover full functionality, appearance integrity, brightness, luminance uniformity and color chromaticity.
General Precautions: The panel is glass-based and must not be dropped or subjected to mechanical shock. If liquid crystal substance leaks from a damaged panel, avoid contact with mouth, skin or clothing; wash with soap and water immediately. Cleaning should use isopropyl or ethyl alcohol only. ESD-safe handling (grounded body and tools) is mandatory, and storage should be in a cool, dry place away from sunlight, acids, alkalis and harmful gases.
